M.A.C. Cosmetics Launches Whitney Houston Makeup Collection

Features products inspired by the star’s signature style and was created in collaboration with the Estate of Whitney Houston.

Last year, it was unveiled that a Whitney Houston line was in the works at M.A.C. Cosmetics (owned by the Estée Lauder Companies).

Now, M.A.C. Cosmetics has launched the limited-edition makeup collection featuring cosmetics to emulate the late singer’s dewy skin, vibrant red lips and doe eyes.

Created in partnership with the Whitney Houston Estate, the collection’s launch coincides with Whitney Houston’s upcoming biopic, I Wanna Dance with Somebody. M.A.C. even recreated some of Whitney’s most memorable beauty looks for the film.

“Whitney was always a champion of women feeling beautiful, whether it was a major event or just for everyday wear,” said Pat Houston, executor of the Estate of Whitney E. Houston. “Our work with MAC is about creating a line that can meet all of those needs. The line will be true to the eye and lip colors that she loved to work with.”

What is in the Collection

The collection includes four lipsticks that run from amped-up neutrals to kissable pinks and a duo of deeply pigmented hot reds: Feisty Red and Sensual Red. Two starlit lip-gloss shades are available in full-carat gold, Shimmery Gold and gold-flecked rust Shimmery Cinnamon.

Many shades within the range also feature Houston’s childhood nickname – Nippy.

A palette of eight shadows includes bone beige, carbon black, taupes, browns, greys and molten metallics. To achieve Whitney’s famous glow, a pair of Shimmer Blush shades and a golden bronze Extra Dimension Skinfinish hue have been formulated.
